Wireless Digital Signage

For advanced Digital Signage we have a variety of options. Our most flexiable is a wireless system that allows total control over what multiple signs will see, nicknamed Box-O-Tricks.

Wireless Digital Signage

The Box-O-Trix is an updatable and automatic signage system used for playing picture files from a USB drive or link to the device wirelessly to push updates and even stream live content to it.

The units are small enough to hold in your hand and can be placed on a plasma bracket. They have no moving parts or fans so are completely silent.

The units requires no setup so needs no keyboard or mouse.  They will boot automatically, and run at resolutions of up to 1920 x 1200. Network connection is done wirelessly or using wired connections (each unit has a 2 port switch built in)

They can run stand alone and show pictures and graphics from a memory card or USB stick.

You can run them in managed mode which allows you to push content to them in real time.  Using a laptop images can be uploaded whilst the screen is in use.  They can also take live RSS feeds from websites (i.e. BBC news) as well as showing clocks, and flash animations, rolling video playlists, music – in-fact anything you can think of.

Multiple units can show similar data with unique parts.  I.e. most of the sign can be the same with just the directions to the various breakout rooms being unique to each screen.

Finally they can be run in streaming mode.  Full screen streaming can be achieved wirelessly or in HD if using a wired network.

How does it work?

The machines run a modified version of Ubuntu.

Switch them on and they will search for pictures on USB drives and their in built card readers. If none are detected they try to connect to known wireless or the wired network. If successful they will link to the sign server and await instructions.
The server will then push the relevant signage and provide any live streaming.  Updates are pushed to the boxes so are instant.

The result is shown in a full screen browser, if you have content that shows in a web browser then we can show it on your signage.

The units can connect to screens (or projectors) using HDMI or VGA and have a variety of resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. (streaming may not be achievable at full screen in this resolution depending on network configuration)

Teamed with our long range wireless units we can send video, audio and signage to multiple displays over 10Km away from each other.
